An average of 7.5 days is unused at the end of the holiday year, for the average employee
A survey has shown that only 28% of staff booked their entire allocated annual leave by the end of November 2018. Part time workers finish their working year with the most amount of holiday time left unused with those working less than 8 hours a week had almost two weeks (9.8 days) of annual leave left over.
It is important that employers ensure their staff take all oftheir holiday leave- particularly because the traditional “use it or lose it” rule may no longer apply if employers have not made every effort to allow and indeed, encourage, staff to take their leave!
