Increase in employment tribunal award value and statutory redundancy pay

The Government has increased the limits applying to certain employment tribunal claims, and amounts payable under employment legislation, effective from 6 April 2019.

Of particular interest is the maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal increasing from £83,682 to £86,444 (or one year’s salary if this is less) and the limit on a week’s pay for statutory purposes (including redundancy pay and calculating the basic award) will increase from £508 to £525.
