Planned changes for Paternity Leave

In amongst the significant legislation changes announced by the Government for 2024, is one which relates to Paternity Leave. The Paternity Leave (Amendment) Regulations 2024 will come into force on 8 March 2024. However, it only applies where the expected week of birth begins after 6 April. The main change is that Paternity Leave will permit fathers or partners to divide their statutory paternity leave into one-week blocks rather than taking it all at once and paternity leave can now be taken at any time during the first year of birth. The government has published draft regulations of the changes.
